Amarcord - Rivers
The 12th State Choir Competition Rheinland-Palatinate will take place from September 26 to 27, 2026 at the historic Kurtheater Bad Ems.
Choirs from all over Rheinland-Palatinate are invited – from children's choirs to chamber and pop ensembles to large concert choirs.
The goal is not only to compare musical performances but also to create encounters and artistic exchanges between choirs of all genres.
Rivers are symbols of movement, change, and the passage of time. They connect landscapes and people, serve as sources of life and places of longing, and sometimes serve as metaphors for transience and comfort.
Under the title RIVERS, the vocal ensemble amarcord creates a musical arc from Renaissance madrigals to contemporary music specifically written for the ensemble.
