Fitness hikes of the Taunus Club Bad Ems
On March 27, the "A" group will meet at 9:30 AM at the meeting point on Arzbacher Straße – near Kastanienallee – and hike over Linz, Blös, and Klingelkopf to Adolfschacht and back to the starting point via the "Bergbauweg." The final stop will be at the inn "Zur Kreuzmühle." The "B-group" will meet at Westbahnhof (Lidl parking lot) and hike through the Emsbachtal to the final stop inn.
On April 3, the meeting point will be at 9:30 AM at the Lidl parking lot by Westbahnhof. From there, the route follows the Lahnhöhen-Weg to the Miellener Chapel. After descending and crossing the Lahn, we will hike back to the starting point along the bike path. A final stop is planned at "Adria" beforehand.
On April 10, the meeting point will be at 9:30 AM at the Lidl parking lotby Westbahnhof. From there, we will largely follow the “old hand paths” to the cemetery and across "Weißen Stein" street to Linzgrund and then up to Blöskopf. From there, we will hike to "Hohe Bahn" and towards the fire hut. Now we will go down over Bismarckhöhe to the mountain station of the funicular railway and further down to Pfahlgraben. The final stop, "Lahnterrasse," will then be in sight and quickly reached.
On April 17, the meeting point will be at 9:30 AM at Westbahnhof (Lidl parking lot). From there, we will head to Hohen Malberg, continue towards the forest house, and return to the starting point via "Spieß" and Kaiser-Wilhelm-Weg or have our final stop at the pizzeria "San Marco" on Römerstraße.
On April 24, the meeting point will be at 9:30 AM at the Lidl parking lotby Westbahnhof. From there, we will go over Ernst-Vogler-Weg, Bismarckhöhe, and Westersbach towards Repselskopf. From there, we will then hike downhill over Sonnenhalde towards Lahn and back along it to the final stop at "Phaiwans."
Now already established as a regular fixture that many incorporate into their weekly planning, the fitness group of the Taunusklubs Bad Ems is out every Thursday. Even sometimes unfriendly weather, like last autumn, does not deter the enthusiastic hikers from doing something for their own health and fitness. Only in cases of thunderstorms, storms, or heavy snowfall will the hike be canceled.
For fourteen years now, we have been hiking weekly, and new participants have continually joined. During the hikes in the first two months of the year, there were usually over 30 people participating.
Regularly and punctuallysetting off, a route of about 10 km is hiked quietly but not lazily – it’s not a walk. The local area around Bad Ems offers a variety of hiking options, and after a while, the same route can often be covered again. The different seasons provide a different and interesting impression.
In addition to the approximately 10 km hikes, there is also an additional and increasingly popular hiking offer ("B"-group) within the framework of fitness hiking. It is aimed at everyone who can no longer climb our mountains so well and also cannot walk such long distances. The meeting point for the hikes usually remains the same for everyone. The “B” group will hike a shorter distance (5 to 8 km) with less elevation gain.
Everyone is warmly invited to the hikes who enjoys hiking and wants to enjoy our beautiful home in the fresh air. Participation is free, with any transportation costs incurred to be reimbursed. The hike on the first Thursday of the month is always planned and conducted with as little elevation as possible.
