"I feel so much for you..."
When the KAREOL DANCE ORCHESTRA performs, a captivating fireworks display of timeless hot jazz explodes on stage.
With titles like “My Little Green Cactus,” “Dream a Little Dream of Me,” or “Charleston,” the ensemble led by Klaus Huck revives the turbulent vibe of a long-forgotten era.
With verve and swing, the ensemble whirls through the catchy tunes of the 1920s in custom arrangements, while the stage show sometimes gets tangled in slapstick chaos.
Egged on by singer and trumpeter Klaus Huck, who also moonlights as a tap-dancing bear, the state-examined musicians, who stumbled in the foxtrot, keep the energy high.
A standout among the eight penguin-suited gentlemen is the charming sousaphonist.
She sets the tone, propelling the piano and drums, while the trombonist, trumpeter, and saxophonists produce wild acrobatics to turn nostalgia into reality.
