Tomorrow
...in the footsteps of the Emser mining industry
On Sunday, February 8, 2026, the Tourism Bad Ems-Nassau invites you again to a special mulled wine hike following the trails of Emser mining.
The hike, approximately 9 kilometers long, combines a winter nature experience with exciting regional history.
Start of the tour is at 11:00 AM at the Mining Museum in Bad Ems.
Along the route, participants will gain numerous insights into the historical mining of the region. Stations include the Wolfstaller Rösche with the earthquake measuring station of the State Office for Geology and Mining, as well as the Blöskopf Tunnel. Here, Frank Girmann from the Mining Museum will provide expert and illustrative explanations about the history of Emser mining.
For your physical well-being, there will be warming drinks like mulled wine and punch as well as a hearty soup available at the start and end point at the Mining Museum. Another break with warm drinks is planned at Blöskopf, managed by the volunteer staff of the Mining Museum.
Participation in the hike is free of charge (excluding food and drinks).
The organizers would greatly appreciate donations for the renovation of the Mining Museum.
Participants are asked to wear sturdy footwear.
