Organ Jubilee "30 Years Sandtner Organ"
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the installation of the Sandtner organ in the Bad Ems parish church, providing the occasion for a special concert format.
Diocesan church musician Lutz Brenner, cathedral music director Harald Schmitt, and regional cantor Jan Martin Chrost have enjoyed working with this high-quality instrument. The Bad Ems Queen has beautifully framed numerous liturgies, and several concerts with renowned artists have been conducted with and through her, touching countless people with her powerful and gentle tones. The Sandtner organ is one of the most significant instruments in the region.
The three organists will demonstrate the versatility of the instrument in this anniversary concert and share anecdotes from the last 30 years with the audience. The audience can look forward to a humorous and festive atmosphere, where music and a small culinary treat invite togetherness.
However, this anniversary also marks the beginning of the restoration project. After 30 years of brilliant and dignified work, the instrument requires refurbishment and cleaning, during which the technology will also be adapted to current standards and oriented towards the future. The donations raised from the concert will benefit the restoration of the Sandtner organ.
