Knut-Works... From Christmas trees to beloved pieces
A craft workshop for everyone who wants more than needle carpet and organic waste
Every year, around "Knut," the traditional day of saying goodbye to the Christmas tree, the same question arises: What to do with the tree? At the workshop "Knut-Works", the answer is: We make something out of it.
Under the motto "Your tree can do more than just shed needles", decorated Christmas trees are transformed into small everyday helpers and keepsakes. From branches and trunk pieces, for example, we create:
- Wooden buttons and jewelry pendants from branch slices
- simple candle holders and coat hooks
- festive garlands for next year
- small wooden cars or mini trains
- simple nativity or play figures made from branches
The workshop is aimed at children and adults. At various stations, participants can saw, drill, sand, and create – always with expert guidance and clear safety rules. Children work on simple projects depending on their age or together with an adult companion.
By the way, a "waste product" becomes a piece of lived sustainability: "Creatively making new from our fir trees" – short: KNUT.
