Concert: "The Beautiful Vasilisa and the Spirits in the Birch Forest"
Music: Elena Gaponenko and Duo müllerRReuter Text: Gaby Fischer and Mike Maisack
The fairytale concert leads visitors once again into the world of fairy tales. Elena Gaponenko and the Duo müllerRReuter musically guide their guests to Siberia. Mike Maisack and Gaby Fischer tell the tale of the beautiful Vasilisa, who will remind us a little of our Cinderella, and let her encounter the wonderfully cantankerous witch Baba Yaga in the birch forest, who uses an oversized mortar for traveling. Deep in the enchanted birch forest lives the Old Woman, as thin as a skeleton and always hungry. Everything around her is related to the remnants of her meals. Her crooked wooden hut is mounted on a gigantic chicken leg, capable of rotating, and the fence around her property is made of gnawed bones of dubious origin. As one might suspect, she leads quite a lonely life; her reputation is notoriously bad. Very few want to expose themselves to her hungry grasp – and the danger allegedly posed by her constantly heated oven. But often Baba Yaga is also helpful, albeit in her own grumpy way.
