On visible and invisible traces of the Romans and the Celts

The hike begins at the castle with a lecture on the history of the Limes and life along the Limes.

The hike goes from Pohl into the nearby forest. Here, the Limes wall and trench are clearly visible, and the foundation of a watchtower can also be found. It continues to Hunzel (site of a small castle) and to Berg (the Limes runs directly through the village) to cross the Limes at the Mühlbachtal, then downstream to the waterfall at Singhofen, and to the Celtic Alteburg (ring walls of a Celtic fort from the 4th century BC) and further back over Singhofen to Pohl. Along the way, there will be additional mindfulness exercises in nature.

Participants should bring their own food and drinks. The castle's gastronomy can be used for a final rest stop at the destination. Sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate clothing are required. The route is approximately 20 km long and has a medium level of difficulty.

Participation is free; however, the support group would appreciate a small donation.

The tour guide is Limescicerone Dr. Alexander Ullrich from Singhofen, already well-known to many as the competent leader of the archery courses offered at the Limes castle for several years.
