Famous composers in the Kaiserbad

Summer in the 19th century world spa town of Ems: the vanity fair is open! An international crowd flocks to Ems to stroll along the promenade on the Lahn. It was the heyday of Ems, when the elegant world came here seeking relief from illness, but also distraction. The European high nobility, politicians, artists and the "moneyed aristocracy" meet here. Among them are the great musicians and composers. Jacques Offenbach spent twelve years on the Lahn and raved about the creative imagination that inspired him here. It was during this time that he wrote his worldwide success "Orpheus in the Underworld". Richard Wagner must have experienced very similar inspiration during his stay at the fairytale-like Balmoral Castle and completed his "Parsifal" here.

Who else stayed in Bad Ems besides Niccolò Paganini, Franz Liszt, Carl-Maria von Weber or Clara Schumann and what anecdotes there are to tell about them is the topic of the new guided tour "Source of Inspiration".
