Two circular routes present an El Dorado for flora and fauna, even with wild horses!
The Schmidtenhöhe nature reserve is a nature reserve managed by NABU and was created on a former military training area. The desert-like areas created by the tanks with individual bramble bushes and hedges very quickly became an El Dorado for flora and fauna! Today, many endangered and rare plant and animal species can be found here, such as the Konik wild horse, Taurus cattle, bats and many species of reptiles and insects. The area can be walked around on two paths, six viewing towers offer a good overview and benches invite you to take a break.
