Exhibition with contemporary and classical art

The exhibition opens on Saturday, August 22 at 5 p.m.

It will be open from Thursday to Sunday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. In addition to regular guided tours, there will also be an exhibition catalog. Current information about the program can be found on the homepage as well as in the event calendar. Registrations for individual events are also possible there.

Works by 15 renowned artists will be displayed. This includes Christian Boltanski, Markus Lüpertz, Billi Thanner, Paula Rego, Max Klinger, Csilla Kudor, and Matthäus Merian the Elder – all works that pose the question: What remains when we are no longer here?

Presenting contemporary art in the medieval church space in Dausenau opens up unusual and tense perspectives. On one hand, the sacred space – a place for the encounter between man and God – challenges the art and questions its meaning-creating power. On the other hand, the art poses existential questions by questioning certainties of faith and traditions and opening up alternative perspectives. In the intimate atmosphere of the church, visitors are invited to pause and address existential questions.
