Genussmarkt „lokal & lecker“ im Limeskastell Pohl

It’s that time again. On Sunday, October 12, 2025, the “local & delicious” market will take place at the Limes­kastell Pohl for the sixth time. An event of a special kind. About 30 exhibitors will come and showcase many lovingly produced food and delicacies from the Rhine, Lahn, and Limes in a beautiful location. More than 2,000 visitors experienced the previous markets and were able to taste, compare, and buy to their heart's content. A lot will be offered again this time in and around the Limeskastell Pohl.

In the second weekend of October, the weather is always fantastic, fruits, vegetables, and field crops are harvested and already processed into delicious products. A good time for the local & delicious market Rhein - Lahn - Limes. It has a family character and is a nice meeting point to enjoy spontaneously with friends and acquaintances. Expected to explore and taste are: organic shepherds with sausage and wool products, an organic goat farm, the Austerstücke winery from Bad Ems, Lahn wine from the Mas­sengeil-Beck winery, vegetables from the Bad Emser Beisel operation, gin from Hirsch­berg, a soup stand, beer from Dausenau, a baker, Oelsber­ger garden vegetables, more farm shops, and a woodworker, among many others, as registrations are still being accepted. The 1st Roman cohort Opladen will prepare a Roman Cena. The individual courses of the opulent dinner will be freshly prepared throughout the day and offered in buffet form at specific times. Changes in the offerings may occur. There will be pony rides for kids from 1 PM to 4 PM. The children will be happy. The patron of the event is again District Administrator Jörg Den­ninghoff.

The market starts at 10:30 AM with an ecumenical harvest thanksgiving service in the basilica of the Limeskastell. Afterwards, the exhibitors will be open until 6 PM.
Entry is free! The exhibitors and the team of the Limeskastell Pohl will provide delicious food and drinks.
