The path leads through the Kaltbachtal to the height of winds past the cross oak.
The entire route of the Kreuzeichen tour is marked with yellow signs and distance information.
The starting point of the hike is the Nassau swimming pool car park in Nassau. Free parking is available all day. Here you will find the hiking trail board for the hiking route.
From the car park, keep in the direction of the underpass. Through the DB underpass you will reach the city centre. Via the Amtsstraße, Amtsplatz past the town hall, the path leads you past Stein's castle, through the Mühlpforte, Westerwaldstraße directly into the Kaltbachtal.
After about 1km you reach the edge of the forest. The hiking trail first runs along the Kaltbach and then leads steadily uphill to the Windener Höhe. Follow the trail markings for a short stretch along the European long-distance hiking trail (X) to the holm oak.
At the fork in the trail, follow the markings to the left to Hömberg. In Hömberg the path leads through the street "Am Schäferköpfchen" and further through the "Gartenstraße" back to the edge of the forest.
From Hömberg you will have wonderful views of the Lahn Valley and the Taunus Mountains. The path now leads to the "Gickelsturm" - vantage point. After you have enjoyed the view, go back about 50 m on our hiking trail. The trail markings lead you back to Nassau via the Oberer Weinbergsweg.
The hiking trail is marked with yellow signs and the inscription Kreuzeichen-Tour.

Directions
Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung ist der Schwimmbadparkplatz Nassau in Nassau. Kostenloses Parken ganztägig möglich. Hier finden Sie die Wanderwegetafel zur Wanderroute.
Vom Parkplatz aus halten Sie sich in Richtung Unterführung. Durch die DB-Unterführung erreichen Sie die Innenstadt. Über die Amtsstraße, Amtsplatz vorbei am Rathaus führt Sie der Weg vorbei am Stein´schen Schloß, durch die Mühlpforte, Westerwaldstraße direkt ins Kaltbachtal.
Nach gut 1km erreichen Sie den Waldrand. Der Wanderweg läuft zunächst entlang des Kaltbaches und führt dann stetig bergan auf die Windener Höhe. Der Wegemarkierung folgend wandern Sie ein kurzes Stück über den Europäischen Fernwanderweg (X) zur Kreuzeiche.
An der Wegegabelung der Kreuzeiche wandern Sie links der Markierung folgend nach Hömberg. Der Weg führt in Hömberg durch die Straße „Am Schäferköpfchen“ und weiter durch die „Gartenstraße“ wieder zum Waldrand.
Von Hömberg aus haben Sie immer wieder herrliche Ausblicke ins Lahntal und den Taunus. Der Weg führt nun zum „Gickelsturm“ - Aussichtpunkt. Nach dem Sie die Aussicht genossen haben, gehen Sie ca. 50 m zurück auf unseren Wanderweg. Über den Oberen Weinbergsweg führt Sie die Wegemarkierung zurück nach Nassau.
Der Wanderweg ist mit gelben Hinweisschildern und der Aufschrift Kreuzeichen-Tour gekennzeichnet.
Equipment
Festes Schuhwerk ist empfehlenswert. Wir empfehlen Ihnen weiterhin einen gepackten Rucksack mit Verpflegung mitzunehmen.
Tip
Ein Besuch des Gickelturmes auf dem Weg von Hömberg nach Nassau ist empfehlenswert.
Der Turm ist mit Hinweisschildern gekennzeichnet.
Getting there
Von Koblenz oder Mainz/ Wiesbaden kommend erreichen Sie Nassau über die Bäderstraße B 260. Aus Limburg/Frankfurt über die B 417. Ab Montabaur Ausfahrt A3 folgen Sie der Beschilderung Bad Ems/Nassau.
Parking
Kostenlose Parkmöglichkeit (auch Wochentags) auf dem Großraumparkplatz am Freibad Nassau.
Public transit
Mit der Lahntalbahn erreichen Sie Nassau aus Richtung Koblenz bzw. Gießen.
