I chose a falcon – Falconry in the Middle Ages
Falconry was an exclusive courtly sport and a status symbol of the nobility in the Middle Ages. It was used to hunt birds (herons, cranes) and game (deer, hare) and was scientifically documented and promoted by Emperor Frederick II in his work "De arte venandi cum avibus" (The Art of Hunting with Birds).
