With the event series "A Summer in the World Heritage," the characteristics of the World Heritage are brought into focus.
The "Great Spa Towns of Europe" are nestled in charming spa landscapes, which were early on developed with walking paths, promenades, and spectacular viewpoints.
Movement in nature was part of the experience of a spa. Bad Ems offers a particularly picturesque spa landscape with authentic monuments. Goethe and Dostoevsky raved about the location by the river, the beauty of the valley, and the backdrop of towering rocks. To this day, the landscape has lost none of its charm.
With a small hike, the History Association leads from the valley station of the Malberg cable car to several historical viewpoints. Via the Henriettenweg (1826) and the Goetheweg (1906), the trail continues on the other side of the Lahn along the Felsenweg, passing the Heinzelmann caves until reaching the Mooshütte (1816). After about 2.3 kilometers, the hike (approx. 1 to 1.5 hours, 90 meters of elevation) concludes with an impressive view that has captivated visitors for over 200 years.
After the descent, an evening market offers a pleasant conclusion, where you can expect further attractions.
