Pilgrimage tour on the Camino de Santiago (Lahn Camino)
The Taunus Club Bad Ems, in cooperation with the Catholic parish community of St. Martin and St. Damian Rhein-Lahn, is organizing a pilgrimage tour on the Camino de Santiago. A partial section from stage 3 will be hiked.
The route is approximately 14 km long, with ascents of 480m and descents of 490m. The duration of the pilgrimage tour is around 5 hours.
From Nassau, the Lahn Camino runs parallel to the Lahnhöhenweg, which leads up the Burgberg Nassau, past the ruins of Stein Castle to Nassau Castle. From there, the trail descends on the opposite side of the mountain into the Mühlbachtal and then climbs again to Misselberg. From there, the path leads back to the Lahn and over the Lahn bridge to Dausenau to St. Kastor Church.
After that, it continues towards Bad Ems over the Repselskopf, past the Concordia Tower and the Heinzelmann Caves down to Bad Ems, with the destination being the Catholic parish church of St. Martin. There, the local committee of Bad Ems will welcome the pilgrims and celebrate a devotion together with the participants. Afterwards, the local committee invites everyone to a communal dinner (free of charge, donations are welcome).
The hike will take place in two groups:
The first group will start after the 11 a.m. high mass from the Catholic parish church of St. Martin Bad Ems at 12 noon and will take the train or replacement bus to Nassau (arrival there at 12:44 p.m.) to hike the stage from Nassau to Dausenau, where there will be a short break.
A second group will set off at 4 p.m. from the Catholic parish church of St. Martin Bad Ems, travel by train to Dausenau, and meet up with the first group there. Both groups will hike together from Dausenau to Bad Ems.
Registration: Please register directly at the Catholic parish office in Bad Ems by June 10, 2025.
Only those who have a Germany ticket can also register by email at pfarrei@stmartin-stdamian.de. In any case, please submit the attached registration form for a group ticket along with 3 euros per person at the parish office (Gartenstraße 4, 56130 Bad Ems) or drop it in the mailbox.
