Mining hike in the urban area
On September 13, 2026 , it is time again. The Working Group on Railways and Mining e. V. starts with the last hike of the season on the Emser mining trails.
Instead of the usual round through the city forest, there will be an extra tour within the town - based on the beginnings of the event in 1984. It starts at 2 p.m. at the parking lot by the old central office (Lidl) near the Westbahnhof. From there, the route goes along solid paths through the Emsbachtal to the Emser Hütte and back, visiting and explaining a variety of mining relics.
Participation is free, but our association always appreciates a suitable donation at the end of the tour.
No registration is required. However, those interested should be in good walking condition. The hike will be canceled in case of imminent bad weather.
