A wet sour founded the Buderuswerke in Wetzlar

Johann Wilhelm Buderus was born on 11 January 1690 in the old ancestral home Buderushaus, which was demolished around 1800, the son of a respectable baker. In 1731, Johann Wilhelm Buderus became the administrator of the Friedrichshütte ironworks in Laubach (Hesse) and founder of the Buderus ironworks in Wetzlar, the largest iron and steel company on the Lahn, which his family ran for over 200 years. His older brother inherited his father's bakery in Nassau. He became the progenitor of the Buderus family on the lower Lahn. A descendant built today's Nassau Buderus House "Anno 1800" (according to the inscription).
