The oldest reconstruction of a Limestorm in Germany
The guard post 2/1 of the Roman Limes on the Wintersberg is the first guard post south of the Lahn. The oldest reconstruction of a Limes tower in Germany at all, built in 1874 on the original foundation walls of Emser Bürgen according to the state of knowledge at that time with a commemorative plaque in Latin; own historical value. A photomontage on an information board shows the crossing of the Lahn through the Limes. Tip: At the Limes Tower there is a restaurant with a panoramic terrace offering an incomparable view of Bad Ems.
