Rethinking Philosophy – Martin Heidegger's Epochal Work "Being and Time" as an Attempt at an Answer in Uncertain Times
Martin Heidegger is one of the most important philosophers of the 20th century. Especially his early major work "Being and Time" — published in 1927 — has significantly shaped philosophy and other academic disciplines, as well as art and literature. It is also a work that showcases the diverse tensions and challenges of the 1920s. At its center is the free human being as "Dasein," who finds himself thrown into a contradictory world and must make something of himself. Written in an era of fear, crises, and the necessity of radical decisions, "Being and Time," a classic of philosophy, poses central questions about human existence. What is this book about? And why is it still relevant today?
Prof. Dr. Dr. Holger Zaborowski holds the Chair of Philosophy at the Catholic-Theological Faculty of the University of Erfurt. Previously, he was a Professor of the History of Philosophy and Philosophical Ethics at the Philosophical-Theological College Vallendar and its Rector. He is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts and is considered an internationally recognized expert on the works of Martin Heidegger with extensive lecturing activities both domestically and abroad.
