Adventure-oriented forest area for health and fun
The Kinderheilwald is located in an approximately eight-hectare forest area at Aspich. It consists of old and medium-aged hardwood stands with predominantly red beech, but also small areas of old sessile oak as well as hornbeam, cherry, sycamore and linden. Medium-aged Douglas fir trees are also present, which are ideal as climbing trees for therapeutic purposes.
This forest area has also always been intensively equipped and used as a recreational forest with trimming and teaching facilities repeatedly in the past decades. Due to its structure with almost area-wide natural regeneration and its development with narrow paths, it is particularly suitable as an experience-oriented children's healing forest.
The main focus of the Children's Therapeutic Forest is the restoration of children's health. Indications are e.g. overweight, sleep disorders as well as concentration and attention disorders. The medical partner of the first hour of the Children's Healing Forest is the Children's Clinic of the Kemperhof. Other partners will follow.
However, the Children's Healing Forest also serves as a health care facility and is therefore open to all families as well as schools, daycare centers and children's groups.
