Remains of the Roman watchtower and reproduction of a palisade
Reconstruction of sentry post 2/2 and a section of the Roman Limes with ramparts and palisades. Old sunken paths meet at the crossroads in the Lahnstein forest. WP 2/2 was newly excavated in 2004. A find coin documents its construction around 150 AD. The tower stump was built in 2005 with original stones according to the specifications of the Roman architect Vitruv, up to 7 layers of the original masonry have been preserved. The palisade and the moat have been erected and excavated true to the original.
