Winery Massengeil-Beck

For several generations, Massengeil has been cultivating wine with love and experience. Grandfather Wilhelm Massengeil, a native of Obernhof, planted the first vines in the steep slopes of the Goetheberg by himself and thus made winegrowing an important sideline for the family besides the usual agriculture. The love for wine and the knowledge of the fathers of the nearby Arnstein monastery brought Wilhelm Massengeil a high degree of skill and experience.

Soon the idea of a small bunch economy followed, which quickly became reality in the cosy half-timbered house. In the summer months, during the officially fixed opening hours, the vertico and chaise longue were quickly cleared out of the good living room and tables and chairs were provided for the guests in their place. They did not have to wait long and enjoyed the delicious Lahn wines in the Obernhofer Borngass'.

Currently, the Straußwirtschaft is available by appointment for wine tastings, family celebrations or groups of 15 persons and more.
